The trial, conviction and imprisonment of Derek Chauvin is one of the most egregious miscarriages of justice in modern American history with the President of the United States and a U.S. Congress woman (Maxine Waters) engaging in jury intimidation. The judge should have declared a mistrial. Stacked against Chauvin was the entire weight of the Federal government. No one can seriously argue that Derek Chauvin received a fair trial.

Chauvin's mistake was maintaining the maximal restraint technique rather than applying a lower-body hobble as is instructed. He thought EMTs were two or three minutes away, and they should have been, but they went to the wrong address. One Floyd went limp, Chauvin should have relented. That was his crime, not murder. I found no major news outlet that reported the fact that the medical examiner was persuaded to change his initial report. Disgraceful. As was the police chief testifying that his department did not teach the maximal restraint technique, which it did. What the public heard was that Floyd "was a healthy young man." And Nancy Pelosi saying, "Thank you, George Floyd for giving your life for justice." Enough to make you vomit.
