In commenting on Private Investigator Susan Daniels’s thesis that Barack Obama was actually born in Vancouver, Canada, I started to write “check out the Port Angeles connection,” but paused to specify my reference, In my search I stumbled across an item more intriguing than my original reference, a 2014 essay by hard lefty Tim Wheeler.
Wheeler spoke of riding with a Kenyan friend of a friend, “a slim, handsome man with an unusual and unforgettable name.” Wheeler’s destination was the Wheeler family farm in Sequim, Washington.” According to Wheeler, the driver was Barack Obama, Sr. Where Obama went after visiting the farm, Wheeler does not say.
Sequim is a 20-minute drive from Port Angeles. Port Angeles is a 90-minute ferry ride from Vancouver Island. Wheeler specified the year as 1961. Obama’s home base throughout 1961 was Hawaii. Where Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, spent the first eight months of 1961, no one knows for certain.
Among the ignorant include the mainstream biographers of Barack Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham, Sally Jacobs of the Boston Globe and Janny Scott of the New York Times respectively. In her book, The Other Barack: The Bold and Reckless Life of President Obama’s Father, Jacobs says of the alleged February 1961 wedding, “The couple apparently had a quiet civil ceremony.” In her book, A Singular Woman, Scott writes that the wedding took place "reportedly on the island of Maui."
In his earliest photo, Obama is already belly crawling
Apparently? Reportedly? The only fact that justifies a biography about Dunham or Obama Sr. is that they married and had a baby. Yet their respective biographers can tell us next to nothing about their courtship or their marriage and express no skepticism about either.
We know that Dunham did not attend the University of Hawaii in the spring semester of 1961, but neither Scott nor Jacobs volunteers word one about where Dunham spent the months before Obama’s birth. There are no photos of a pregnant Dunham nor of a newborn Obama. As to the birth itself, both biographers rely on Obama’s dubious short form birth certificate for information and nothing else. The fact that Obama’s presidential eligibility hinged on that information does not interest either of them.
Jacobs, did, however, drop something of a bombshell in advance of her book’s publication in July 2011. Jacobs cited a 1961 memo by a Honolulu INS official who was told by Obama Sr. that Dunham was "making arrangements with the Salvation Army to give the baby away."
Abortion put the Salvation Army’s maternity homes out of business
All of the Obama biographers agreed that Dunham never wanted to leave Seattle in 1960, and most eventually conceded she was back in Seattle with the baby in August 1961, there to begin the fall term at the University of Washington.
Given the stigma around any birth out of wedlock in 1961, let alone that of a baby who was half black, Daniels argues that Dunham spent the last months of her pregnancy at Maywood, the Salvation Army home for unwed mothers in Vancouver, B.C. Pregnant girls spent four or five months there before delivery and two or three weeks after. One has to wonder whether Obama Sr. took the ferry to Vancouver from Port Angeles to visit her.
Most girls at Maywood gave up their babies for adoption, but according to Daniels’s sources, mixed-race babies were not adoptable. Obama was said to have been born on August 4, 1961. As Daniels reports, Susan Blake, Dunham’s high school classmate and a generally credible witness, said Dunham showed up at her Seattle house with a two-week-old infant whose diaper changes Dunham had yet to master. Had Dunham stayed in Hawaii, an airplane flight to Seattle would have taken at least six hours—that is, if a baby were allowed to fly. Had she given birth in Vancouver, a train ride to Seattle would have taken half that time.
A movie could be made out of Daniels’s adventurous life. In fact, one has.
Daniels is the sleuth who first revealed that Obama was gliding through life on a social security number issued in Connecticut, a state to which he had no connection. She does her homework and took the Vancouver theory as far as she could. A fire at Maywood in the early 1990s reportedly destroyed any confirming documentation.
I have argued that the hiccup in Obama’s origin story is the “when” not the “where.” I believe Dunham’s family whisked her off against her will to Hawaii in the summer of 1960 knowing she was about to give birth to a mixed-race baby. What Daniels and I agree on is that Obama sicced his pit bulls from Perkins Coie—the same law firm that gave us the Steele dossier—on anyone who challenged Obama’s nativity story, starting in 2008 with prominent Hillary supporter Philip Berg. They had something critical to hide.
This controversy has lost its political relevance but not its historical significance. Today, not 1 Democrat out of 10 knows that Obama spent the first year of his life in Seattle, a fact that makes a sham out of the origins story on which he based his presidential campaigns. Here’s hoping future generations will want to know how so many seemingly smart people shielded themselves so defiantly from knowing just where and when their president was born.

The 'short form' and newspaper legal notices were produced by the Hawaiian Department of Vital Records, by a clerk and not a licensed birthing facility. The law permitting the clerk to do this is Haw Stat Rev §338-17.8. This is a Certification of Live Birth, a live baby, using only testimony of the mother on the birthplace. There are no witnesses on the document except the mother, and in this case the grandmother. Every state has this provision in their laws for special circumstances where the mother cannot get to a hospital or birthing center.
The man named as father is Barack Obama, Sr. who was a Muslim polygamist/bigamist, which made any marriage void ab initio, open to uncontested annulment. Bigamy is a crime, and Obama, Sr. had to lie to Princeton admission officials that he was divorced from his Kenyan wife. The official was skeptical, but did not go so far as to demand the codicils of divorce from Kenya.
As Phil Berg opined, it was a 'village' wedding under Sharia law, so no documents.
Nevertheless, and disregarding the Mombasa, Kenya birth records--which are far more reliable than the forgery foisted upon the ignorant public on April 27, 2011--the simple fact that the real or putative father was a Kenyan, of British citizenship, disqualified Barack Obama from the presidency as a natural born citizen requires, without exception, a U.S. citizen father.
And no one from HS, California college, Columbia , or Law School ever talks about their buddy- Barry, or whatever other names he used.
