Media Revive J6 Murder Hoax to Slam Trump Pardons
Exploiting the Death of Officer Brian Sicknick Has Become Addictive
As I detailed in my November 18 article, The Most Ghoulish Hoax in American Political History, the media and the Democrats have been exploiting the unfortunate death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick since the day he died.
In the way of background, the Democrats needed a martyr of their own to offset the January 6, 2021, shooting death of protestor Ashli Babbitt. They caught a break on January 7 when Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died.
Someone in authority—the New York Times would cite “two law enforcement officials”—made the twisted decision to have Sicknick “murdered.” On January 8, the New York Times told its readers that “pro-Trump rioters” struck Sicknick with a fire extinguisher and added this chillingly fraudulent detail: “With a bloody gash in his head, Mr. Sicknick was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support.”
“This horrifying story about a pro-Trump mob beating a police officer to death was repeated over and over, by multiple journalists on television, in print, and on social media,” said independent journalist Glenn Greenwald. Greenwald called this counterfeit murder “the single most-emphasized and known story of the event.”
To sell the hoax, Sicknick’s ashes were displayed in the Rotunda of the Capitol
For more than 100 days, with flags lowered to half mast, authorities sustained the hoax by suppressing the results of Sicknick’s January 8 autopsy. In April 2021, a Judicial Watch lawsuit forced the DC medical examiner to reveal the true cause of Sicknick’s death, specifically two strokes at the base of his brain stem caused by a clot. Sicknick died not on January 6 but on January 7. There was no fire extinguisher. No bloody gash. No rush to the hospital.
In an interview with the Washington Post, DC medical examiner Dr. Francisco Diaz called it a “natural death,” meaning “a disease alone causes death.” According to Diaz, Sicknick suffered no internal or external injuries, nor any allergic reaction to a chemical substance.” To give the media a sound bite to salvage their narrative, he added, “All that transpired played a role in his condition.”
To sustain the martyrdom narrative, the DoJ arrested 32-year-old protestor Julian Khater, denied him bail, and charged him with “conspiring to injure U.S. Capitol Police Officer B. Sickick, U.S. Capitol Police Officer, and Metropolitan Police Officer D. Chapman.” Specifically, “Khater deployed a chemical spray directly at law enforcement officers.”
Curiously, Khater was indicted on March 17, 2021, a full month before Sicknick’s autopsy results were released. Apparently, the DoJ already knew Sicknick was not murdered by a fire extinguisher and arrested Khater to keep the “lethal insurrection” myth alive.
The Lebanese-American Julian Khater was framed as Sicknick’s murderer
Khater and others brought pepper spray not to seize the Capitol—hardly likely—but to fend off antifa and BLM counter-protestors who had attacked Trump supporters at two previous DC rallies.
Hundreds of police and protestors were gassed on January 6, none fatally. The Capitol Police initiated the gas war, promiscuously launching a barrage of grenades, gas, and rubber bullets into the growing mass of still peaceful protestors on the Capitol’s west side. Scores of police officers were gassed when the wind shifted in their direction.
“That was a shooting gallery out there,” said Stan Kephart, the use-of-force expert who reviewed the video footage for the Epoch Times. “There was no tactical reason for it at all.” Khater, in fact, used his pepper spray in response to an up-close, super-sprayer attack by Metropolitan PD officer, Jason Bagshaw. Bagshaw is currently being sued for his brutal, bloody attack on protestor Victoria White pictured below.
In September 2022, aware that DC juries had acquitted not a single J6er, Khater pleaded guilty. He had been in prison since March 2021. In January 2023, he was sentenced to 80 months in prison, a draconian sentence made plausible by the phantom murder of Brian Sicknick.
Following the pardons issued by President Trump, the media and the Democrats exploited Sicknick’s death once again. CBS promptly turned to Sicknick’s relatives, who obliged the network by claiming, “Our family has been asked to comment on the pardoning of the rioters who sacked the Nation's Capitol on January 6, 2021, including the man who assaulted our son with a deadly weapon.”
Said New Jersey Gov. Tim Murphy, “President Trump’s decision to pardon the individual who assaulted [Sicknick] that day — and 1,500 other Jan 6th defendants — is a deep betrayal of justice and dark moment for our country.” Murphy seemed unaware that Khater had already served four years in prison to sustain a hoax and pleaded guilty only to avoid the perils of a Stalinist show trial.
Rep. Zoe Lofgren went further, claiming that Khater’s attack “led to the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.” Not even the DoJ charged Khater with murder or manslaughter. It may be time for Lofgren to lawyer up.
If there was a “betrayal of justice,” as the Democrats insist, Khater was the one betrayed. As a first step to rebalance the scales of justice, Congress should discover the identity of the “two law enforcement officials” who launched the most ghoulish hoax in American political history and follow that thread wherever it leads.
