About the only thing non-fictional about Barry is his dishonesty.

Dave Kepus's avatar

Wonder what Barry thinks his real Truth really is?

The dudes a fraud…like Clint Eastwood proclaimed in 2008!

Having been forced to read the book in college, I enjoyed this trip down memory lane with Obama as the determined hero.

I may be wrong, but I think the cozy photo on the couch was with his gay, Pakistani boyfriend when they were at Occidental.

Jack Cashill's avatar

NY, I believe, gay Pakistanis are everywhere

Susan Daniels's avatar

You are correct. I looked up the photo of him and his gay CA boyfriend and it was a different person.

James Mead's avatar

They certainly look close

Susan Daniels's avatar

They were VERY close.

The whole Barry Whoever Saga is still unbelievable and unacceptable that it was allowed to happen!

Unlike The Odyssey, Barack Obama’s Memoir Dreams from My Father is no literary classic nor anywhere close to an epic tale! It is clear from comparing the styles of writing that former far-left terrorist Bill Ayers wrote the book NOT Barack Obama! The parallels between the two are just too striking to ignore! Everything Jack shared with us from the book sounds theatrical, overly dramatic and like something out of a black nationalist fever dream. I don’t believe a single word of it ever took place. But I will say this, Barack Obama, Sr. was a piece of human garbage for divorcing and abandoning Barack’s mom Ann Dunham and him. I sympathize with the 44th president on that. But I don’t believe a word he says in it. All the scenes described in the book sounds like something out of Hollywood movie or a bad soap opera. I got a good laugh out of all the silly nonsense Bill Ayers claimed Obama did as a young man. From his “racial awakening” to his defending the honor of those who led slave rebellions to an Iranian to his “exploration” of the bright lights of New York City to his romances that made me cringe and sound like something out a young adult show on the CW to his “journey” to Africa to find his roots as if he’s in a Spike Lee joint or something. All of it is absolutely laughable! Barack Obama went into the wrong line of work, he should’ve been a comedian instead of a politician, because this is good stuff! 😂 Barack and Bill Ayers were trying to write a dramatic memoir and instead gave us one really long MadTV sketch!

Diana Oughton’s death was a tragedy, but it can’t be denied she did it to herself. Back to Barry O, I can’t wait for his daughters to write the sequel Nightmares from My Father where they discuss how he killed innocent Pakistani and Yemeni children in drone strikes, screwed up the Afghanistan War, turned Libya into a failed state with open slave markets, prosecuted whistleblowers mercilessly, gave free guns to the Mexican cartels, got the men at Benghazi killed, kissed up to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, gave Israel the finger, embraced the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown hoaxes, libeled and slandered the Cambridge Police, spied on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, got taken by Iran, didn’t move to help those fighting for freedom in Syria, deported more illegal immigrants than all the Presidents since 1890 combined, executed a U.S. citizen in a drone strike, tried six ways from Sunday to prosecute Julian Assange, chased after Edward Snowden and tried to lock him up, and committed social security fraud. Can’t wait! It’s gonna be great! Perhaps John Brennan can write a forward to it, and brag about how he and Obama abused their power in totally illegal and un-American ways. Also, Obama acts in the book as if growing up as a black person in America is so hard. Uh Barack? You do realize right you were born in 1961 when the Civil Rights Movement was kicking into high gear and Brown v. Board of Education had been the law of the land since 1954? By the time you were in college all the major civil rights legislation had been passed, affirmative action was in full swing, the Congressional Black Caucus had been formed, and many prominent black movie stars, musicians, comedians, entertainers, athletes, and sports stars had emerged on the scene and had been embraced and were beloved by, white Americans.

The America Barack grew up in saw Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson and Ken Griffey Jr. become huge stars in sports, Michael Jackson break records and become the most famous man in the world and change music forever with his iconic music video Thriller and break the color barrier by appearing on MTV, a black woman New York Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm and a black man Jesse Jackson respectively run for President, Billy Dee Williams, Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, Bill Cosby, Eartha Kitt, Greg Morris, John Amos, Jim Brown, Scatman Crothers, Roscoe Lee Browne, LeVar Burton, Nichelle Nichols, and Richard Pryor all emerge as stars, shows like The Jeffersons, Good Times, Sanford and Son, Julia, A Different World, Martin, Living Single, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Soul Train all with predominantly black casts all came on television, and Reginald Lewis become the first black billionaire.

Hey Barack! Remember the Harlem Globetrotters or Fat Albert cartoons? Remember Blackplotation films? Are you familiar with Motown music? Remember Bill Clay, Ron Dellums, Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, or John Lewis being elected to Congress? Barack, you never suffered the kind of racism or hurdles that past generations of black Americans who came before you did. You were never a slave like Frederick Douglass was nor did you live through Jim Crow like Larry Elder’s father Randolph for example did. You have no idea what that was like! Stop pretending like you do! You had it easy compared to them! You got to go to Harvard University while folks like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Ida B. Wells, Robert Smalls, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Dubois, Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X had to fight just for their basic human dignity everyday if not to not be put back in chains. You don’t know the meaning of the word racial oppression. You didn’t lose your life because of racial hatred like Emmett Till, Jesse Washington, Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith, George Stinney, or Medgar Evers did. You didn’t get beaten to the point you went blind like Isaac Woodard did. You didn’t get called the n-word everywhere you went and get booed for the color of your skin like Jackie Robinson did. You didn’t get denied service at a restaurant even though you were serving our country like Colin Powell was. You didn’t put on a performance for the ages at the Olympics and then get snubbed by your President when you came home like Jesse Owens did!

Obama spent his time as the 'anointed one' trying to prove he was an 'Authentic African American. His anti white privilege drove a wedge that turned back the clock and retrograde race relation

WSR1689's avatar

Racism is bad for anyone. But Obama's actions were not because of racism. Race relations before and after Obama's Presidency were much worse than they were previously. He took every action to exploit actions like Ferguson to make things worse. He could have been a leader and nationally said 'Hands Up Don't Shoot' was entirely false. And to ask people to understand what actual witness saw. He could have called for peaceful protests. And asked people not to riot.

When he said 'Travon Martin could have been my soon' He could have explained that he knew from personal experience the importance of having an intact nuclear and extended family. That children and youths need a Father and mother living together setting an example. Also the importance of getting an education.

I did a dissertation on 'The Children of Divorce' My professor said what about African American Children?

Thomas Sowell's research showed that African American Families had more stable families before the War on Poverty.

And correlated the problems of fatherless young African American Children.

What Obama failed to do is even sadder than what he did

Experiencing racism does not require: being enslaved, living under Jim Crow, being murdered, being denied service, being beaten or being called slurs daily

Racism exists on a spectrum. Obama’s experiences were different from Douglass, Tubman, or King — but that doesn’t mean nonexistent.

Nicholas Stix's avatar

The John Doe calling himself "Barack Obama" never experienced racism. By contrast, I have experienced racism thousands of times.

I liked your timely comparisons. I wonder if Barry claimed to be from Kenya to get accepted to Harvard. How else could someone who spent his Junior and Senior Years stoned get accepted.

I was going to skip seeing the Odyssey after reading about the woke tripe in a Classic. Then Anne Hathaway lecturing us from her righteous podium on White Privilege.

Just because she is good at playing pretend. Does not make her worthy of listening to.

Just another Pretentious empty vessel.

Yet, a very small part of me will always have warm gratitude for Obama helping to keep Hillary out of the White House.

Rick's avatar

True. It was Her Turn, but the minute Barack descended from the clouds to save us all, Dems quickly tossed Hillary overboard. Hillary's support was always a mile wide, but an inch deep.

Here's how Truth looks to the few Americans who care about Hussein's odyssey (small o):

He was the product of a liaison between a white college girl and a married African eight years her senior. He had already abandoned his Kenyan wife and later married Hussein's mother, making him a bigamist. This he denied, stating that "polygamy" was allowed under Kenyan law, that his wife and young son he'd abandoned had "consented." Well, at least the wife ...

Hussein's entire upbringing was courtesy of his white mother and grandmother - with every sacrifice, every labor, every privilege (there's that word again) courtesy of them and not a peep heard from the sperm donor.

The one skill he learned, though, was the classic grift of race-exploitation. Though precisely as much "white" as "black," there's no money in being white unless you earn it, so guess which race he chose.

He weaved his unearned way upward, even garnering the numerous white votes required to become US president in this oh-so-racist land. How did he repay his mother and grandmother? By publishing a ghost-written hagiography of the sperm donor, nearly completely omitting the story of the two women who made him what he became - though for that omission, I'm sure, they would now be grateful.

As the first mulatto US president he could have closed and healed racial animus in America as no other, but he instead chose the black-sorehead approach and used the highest office in the land to foment further racial division and vent that inner asshole common those afflicted by the racially-oppressed delusion. The great Thomas Sowell, himself as black as midnight, considers Hussein Obama the worst president in US history.

Having come from a rather disadvantaged section of the Appalachians and clawing my way to a comfortable retirement, the Hussein Obama grift has always been as transparent as a windowpane. I hope that history judges him appropriately.

The passage is not a factual account of Barack Obama’s life.

It mixes: verifiable biographical details, false claims, conspiracy theories, emotionally charged language and partisan interpretations.

Reputable sources do not support the narrative’s central assertions.

Kudos for reading Barack's & Bill Ayers's books. I never could've done it & I would've totally missed their blatant theft of Homer, who I did study carefully. The only compliment I can pay these two is that they wisely chose an ideal source to steal from. Now I realize that Barack is even more of a puppet than I imagined. A fantastically well-rewarded puppet, but still just a puppet at heart & not his own man at all.

Bruce_in_AZ's avatar

I wonder about the authorship of his other two "autobiographies".

Jack Cashill's avatar

By then he could afford ghostwriters

Rick's avatar

Barack could afford everything right from Day One. Influential people spotted Barack long ago & recognized his future value. An excellent orator who could definitely be a great, charismatic campaigner. He's been supported & financed & protected ever since. An average young guy who wrote 2 autobiographies before he had any notable accomplishments? Was the world holding its breath to hear every word he had to say? Plenty of ego, that is certain, but little useful experience.

ALtab's avatar

Ayers committed so many crimes, but like the lies he told in this book, the end justifies the means….

…and to this date, neither he, nor Obama have faced justice for them.

Thank you, Jack!

What a montage of an Obummer epic Jack! The cozy couch shot with his Queer Iranian ambassador is a revelation! Evoking exotic connections closer to W. Burroughs NAKED LUNCH Morocco than the foreign capital Washington has become since he slimmed it up.

[Burroughs being a culture figure still quite active at the time in the East Village - with a strong rebirth around the corner in the mid-eighties when Gus Van Sant honored him as THE central figure in DRUGSTORE COWBOY - & the founding father of modern Queerness].

All before the devastation of AIDS.

Of course, Obama's Columbia phase is the historical equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle.

In an era of massive leaking, all records have been scrubbed, sealed, or obliterated. Crickets and chicken feed so far for the most part.

And while The Rev Wright was a central and significant figure in Obama's rise - in fact essential to help him connect to Ayers & the Harold Washington Progressive A list - it's crucially important to remember that it was Pelosi who began to peddle the O Man for the big time once retaking congress in 2007.

West Coast Nancy. Herself a queen/intimate of Queer nation (hint - Paul her 'husband' as much as her time spent in Cali State politics) - and - she tapped the most central player at the most important moment - uber queer BILLIONAIRE David Giffen.

No way Obama obliterates the Clinton Machine without these two at the helm in the war room.

Later the Sultans of Silicon Valley all climbed on as the Democrat party completely transformed into the party of privilege (proving once again not only the truth of 'gay affluence' but it's emerging political and corporate power as well). A party who abandoned the working class and eventually a shrinking (with their help) Middle America to boot.

There is no historical Nancy Speakership without the Historical Obama Presidency - and vice versa. No Obamacare and its misery. No Iran deal and it's financing of Jihad.

In reality Obama's obsession with Iran and the Iran Deal was only partly about the Democrat Party Politics insane power sharing dating to Carter, Zibig Brzezinski, the Hostage Crisis and the Islamic Mullahs, besides old-fashioned antisemitism.

Those policy escapades were clearly a project cooked up by a handful of intimates who capitalized on Ben Rhoads time spent off in Masters Writers Program Land. A poor American equivalent of The Balfour Accords minus the statesmanship and clear headedness of a Churchill.

That and the stink hole we now know about - The corruption of color revolutions and the NGO's and all of it that has been hollowing out our Country for so many decades via War Inc and so much more. Red and Blue.

So many more tentacles point to the origins of the man - who often proudly proclaimed he 'LED FROM BEHIND'.... too much - much more obvious origins which that Couch picture screams - literally a thousand words over various decades. And various book deals.

Queer Nation.

Maybe that is why he is so happy living these days in gated Euroland. Wonder what he thought of the Fauci hearings?

thanks again Jack.

Rick's avatar

Excellent post, but it seems pretty doubtful Barack gives a dung about Fauci one way or another. Looks like Fauci was chosen at the beginning to be the convenient scapegoat after the Covid Plandemic served its purpose & ran its course.

You recommend the Nolan movie? With a not-so-attractive African "Helen of Troy" and a F-to-M transsexual, I think not. Maybe someday if it's free on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Rick's avatar

I loved it. I'm a lifelong Greek mythology buff, so I had to see it. It really is a classic. Some of Christopher Nolan's choices baffled me, but they didn't affect my enjoyment of the whole package. As for Lupita NYong'o as Helen/Clytemnestra & the other black actors, it looks like Nolan just wanted to include black cast members in big roles. It's his movie, after all. Looking forward to the DVD & hopefully lots of unseen footage.

Cheesefrog's avatar

I wonder if the casting of black actors were because movies without proper representation of races aren't eligible for Academy Awards? I really hope that a guy like Nolan would not bend the knee like that but it sure seems that way on the surface.

Rick's avatar

All that sort of thing is just superficial. Like I said, I loved it. Very enjoyable.
